Nissan Innovation Day set to drive growth

More than 70 engineers from Nissan’s Sunderland plant were treated to a showcase of the latest industrial maintenance and health & safety products, when Brammer brought its mobile demonstration vehicle onsite.

Twelve leading suppliers joined Brammer on the day, including bearing manufacturer SKF; lubrication specialist Rocol; leading power transmission company  Gates; and adhesives supplier Henkel Loctite. One of the most popular products on display was Proglove, the industry’s first smart glove, which resulted in the team being invited up to the shop floor to give a live demonstration – and interest was so great that a follow-up visit has been scheduled to allow Nissan’s engineers to test this groundbreaking product for themselves.

Feedback from Nissan’s engineers has been encouraging, with one attendee commenting: “We’ve never seen such a busy Innovation Day, and when we went back to work everyone was talking about how good it had been.” Other engineers praised the wide range of suppliers on display, which reflects Brammer’s overall portfolio of more than 60,000 products.

Mark Quinn, regional Insite™ manager for Scotland and the North arranged the event, and explained: “Visiting engineers on site allows us to showcase the depth and breadth of our product offering, and at the same time gives them the chance to get hands-on with our products which is invaluable for them. What’s more, it gives us the opportunity to talk through our added-value services. This often leads to follow-up visits to work with engineers to solve any maintenance challenges they may be experiencing, and we look forward to working closely with Nissan in the coming months on a number of exciting projects.”
